RACIAL JUSTICE:
Dismantling Whiteness

The Racial Healing Handbook: Fall 2019

Picture

For the last year (since September of 2018), a cohort of 20 Redeemer congregants have met regularly to discuss and learn about what it means to be White in America, and what it means to dismantle racism starting in ourselves. We began with 12 weeks of listening to and discussing Scene On Radio's 14-episode Seeing White podcast series, which we followed with an 8-session study of Robin DiAngelo's book White Fragility.

As we move into our second year, we are diving deeper still into both our individual internal work through The Racial Healing Handbook, and our collective work for intersectional racial justice through our group's Intercultural Development Inventory and action plan.

We remain committed to sustained study and action as a reflection of Redeemer's place in the Harrison neighborhood of North Minneapolis. Click here to learn more about our history and future hopes for Social Justice at Redeemer.

SEEING WHITE: Podcast Study Overview
Fall 2018

Over 12 weeks in the fall of 2018, a group of about 20 Redeemer congregants joined together to listen to, discuss, and learn from Scene On: Radio's Seeing White podcast. We have since taken a deeper dive into whiteness and what it means to be agents of racial change and justice as individuals, as a church, as neighbors. If you missed the podcast group, we invite you to join us now as we continue the work through a book study of Robin DiAngelo's White Fragility. Learn more here.
