The Racial Healing Handbook (Fall 2019)
For the last year (since September of 2018), a cohort of 20 Redeemer congregants have met regularly to discuss and learn about what it means to be White in America, and what it means to dismantle racism starting in ourselves. We began with 12 weeks of listening to and discussing Scene On Radio's 14-episode Seeing White podcast series, which we followed with an 8-session study of Robin DiAngelo's book White Fragility.
As we move into our second year, we are diving deeper still into both our individual internal work through The Racial Healing Handbook and our collective work for intersectional racial justice through our group's Intercultural Development Inventory and action plan. We will continue meeting on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month from 8am to 10am in the church fellowship hall. To learn more or join us, contact Amy in the church office. |
