PEOPLE OF REDEEMER:
OUR JOURNEYS OF FAITH
During Lent 2017, we gathered every Wednesday in our fellowship hall for a soup supper, Holden Worship, stories and conversations. Each week, we watched videotaped reflections where 18 different community members responded to the prompt, "Describe your journey of faith and how you came to Redeemer." After listening to each story, we engaged in deep conversation about our own faith journeys with other people at our table. Check out some of the stories below!
Cheryl Branch“I would use words to describe my spiritual journey […] Moving. Changing. Flexibility. Fear and Freedom."
Dietrach and Amy Nissen"Throughout my life, I figured that when you find a good group of people, who are grounded, who can have the hard conversations about things, that’s when you see God." -Dietrach Nissan

Peter Wemeier “There’s no greater witness to the gospel then the fact that people from different backgrounds, different experiences can come together and worship.”
Luvene Jackson“Every moment when I get up I just have to say, ‘God thank you for another day. Thank you for life.' I don’t know what my life would be like if I didn’t have God in my life.”

Paul, Amy, and Elijah Koopman"I don’t know exactly where my belief lands, but it is a really comforting thing to be in a community where that’s ok and where I am still welcome to be a part of God’s kingdom, and to know that everyone else is the same. Everyone else is welcome in this church."
- Amy Koopman |
Jia Brown“I was so surprised to walk in the doors and find the same music from my childhood that was here, the same prayers, the liturgy––I saw smiles, hugs, and it was just like coming home.”
