In addition to making sure captions are available on all new recordings beginning with this weekend’s worship, we will also work to add captions to all previous video recordings in the coming weeks! SUNDAY MORNING and WEDNESDAY EVENING ZOOM MEET-UPS // In addition to our ongoing Sunday morning zoom fellowship at 9:30am, we will begin hosting a weekly Wednesday evening zoom from 7-8pm in September, when we will dig into and discuss each of the five chapters of First Peter. There is a posted recording by Pastor Kelly on each chapter. The existing recordings (available online) by Pastor Kelly were shaped by perceiving the rebellion, uprising and social unrest in Minneapolis. Through this bible study, we will examine how are we perceiving ourselves as agents of hope with the book of First Peter. North Porch Project // Leila, one of the Center for Leadership and Neighborhood Engagement (CLNE) and RCFL’s summer interns, has developed the North Porch Project to depict North Minneapolis neighbors at their homes and share their stories and what sparks hope in this moment in history. Families are asked to pose on their porches (or at home) in a way that genuinely portrays their life. The purpose of North Porch is to give North Minneapolis a face and create a sense of familiarity to the non-suburban communities; to show how real people are living and connecting right now. If interested please contact Leila Rocha Fisher. God of faithfulness, you bid your people to follow Jesus. Set the mind of your church on divine things. Grant us trust in you as we prepare to call a pastor that we with our new leader lose our lives for the sake of Christ and thereby discover joy in life through him. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. God of wonder, the earth is yours and all that is in it. Heal your creation and give us eyes to see the world as you do. As the seasons change, pattern the rhythm of our lives in harmony with all creation especially for Sarah and Nathan who are beginning their faith journey as the newly married. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. God of all nations, you call us to live peaceably with all. Give us ears to hear one another, even those we name as enemies. Fill all leaders with mercy and understanding, that they advocate and genuinely care for those who are poor and most vulnerable in their communities. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. God of salvation, you promise to deliver us. Give those who suffer a strong sense of your presence and love. Accompany those who are uncertain, raise the spirits of those who are despairing, and heal all those in need, including Claudia, Mark, MarySue, Mary Lou, Shoonie, the residents of Chicago, Kenosha, Houston, our own city of Minneapolis and the states of California and Louisiana, the global nations living with COVID-19 and quarantines four our front-line, first-responder, retail and delivery persons. Be with all whom we hold in our hearts . . . Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Intercessor: In the certain hope that nothing can separate us from your love, we offer these prayers to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Comments are closed.
