PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION: Sunday of the Passion/Palm Sunday (April 5, 2020)
Readings and Psalm: Isaiah 50:4-9a | Psalm 31:9-16 | Philippians 2:5-11 | Matthew 21:1-11 Intercessor: Turning our hearts to God who is gracious and merciful, we pray for the church, the world, and all who are in need [a brief silence.] God of mercy, by your Spirit, give us bold and joyful words to speak, that we awaken and sustain the weary by proclaiming your redeeming message of faithfulness. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great. God of mercy, quiet the earth where it trembles, shakes and pours especially in Missouri, Mississippi, Alabama, Brazil, Croatia and Texas. Protect everywhere vulnerable ecosystems, threatened habitats, and endangered species. Prosper the work of liberating leaders such as scientists, engineers, and researchers finding ways for restoring your creation to health and wholeness. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great. God of mercy, send your saving help to all who suffer abuse, insult, discrimination, or contempt, comfort the crying, heal the wounded by bringing peace and relief to all suffering especially any with chronic and terminal illness Ione, Werner, any living with COVID -19... the grieving the Runsewe family...Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great. God of mercy, we pray for all preparing and leading worship in this Holy Week by whatever means they can during this global health crisis, heeding your call to us to die to self, to live for you, and to give of ourselves for the sake of others. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great. Pastor: According to your steadfast love, O God, hear these and all our prayers as we commend them to you; through Christ our Lord. Amen. STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN APRIL 2020 During the month of April Redeemer will be launching a financial stewardship campaign. While we still cannot gather in person, we continue to worship together virtually, and support the Harrison Community through RCFL's programming, and we can't do it without our congregation's sustained support! Be watching for the letter and pledge card via US Mail in the coming weeks, and be pondering what does stewardship mean to you? In the mean time, online giving is easy through the online giving portal! SHOW US YOUR FACE! We can't gather in person but we want to see your faces and hear what you've been up to, what's sustaining you, and how you're staying connecting during quarantine! Send Amy a short video of you and your family at admin@redeemermpls.org or upload it to Instagram with the hashtag #redeemermplsquarantine or to our facebook page, and let's stay connected!
