Remembering Moses Dolo, Sr.
Friday, January 6th and Saturday, January 7th

Our Redeemer community is invited to two services this weekend to celebrate the life and homegoing of Moses Dolo, Sr., who passed away on December 1, 2022.

Wake: Friday, January 6th at 6pm
Funeral: Saturday, January 7th at 9am

Epiphany Worship
Sunday, January 8, 2023 | 10:30am

The Feast of Epiphany (“manifestation”) concludes the Christmas season with a celebration of God’s glory revealed in the person of Jesus Christ.

In Isaiah and Ephesians, that glory is proclaimed for all nations and people. Like the light of the star that guided the magi to Jesus, the light of Christ reveals who we are: children of God who are claimed and washed in the waters of baptism. We are sent out to be beacons of hope, sharing the good news of God’s love to all people. We will celebrate in worship with a service of Baptismal Reaffirmation, recommitting to the promises of Baptism.

The God Who Sees
Over the next 6 weeks we will be on a journey of seeing, taking time to see where God is showing up. We will meet the Holy Family as they will have to flee their homeland seeking safety in another land and fast forward to Jesus, in his 30s, beginning his ministry. Through these weeks, we will see a God who is ever present, truly seeing us in our journeys of alienation, loss, and belonging.

Sanctuary Clean-Up & Reset

Wednesday, Jan. 11th
6 to 8pm (New Time!)

We need volunteers to clean our Sanctuary and prepare for the next season. Many hands do make the difference, so lend yours! Contact Pastor Jen if you can help other times to continue reorganizing church liturgical decor.

Support local neighborhood organizations with food and diaper needs. Donate and show up at one of these locations:

Shifts between 11:30am - 4:00 pm. Sign up here.

Sunday, January 15th:
CommUNITY Meal
Join us at Redeemer for a meal, 12-2pm. We'll gather to be fed and connected. This is a Potluck Style Meal so bring a dish to share! (Main dish provided) Please label for those who have allergies and dietary restrictions.

Community Celebration

Diapers Needed!
RLC Volunteer Day: Saturday, January 21st
(Diaper Drop off at Redeemer at 10am)

Our neighborhood food shelf (at MCCC) is in desperate need of diapers for distribution. Remember Redeemer drops off our collected diapers on 3rd Saturdays. If you can help deliver or volunteer, reach out to Sally Ankerfelt. Please bring boxes of diapers of any size (sizes 3, 4, 5, and 6 are the most requested) to church on Sundays or drop off during office hours Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Hocokata Ti
January 28, 2023
Hoċokata Ti’s (pronounced 'ho-cho-ka-ta tee' ) provides visitors with a cultural experience that enhances their knowledge and understanding of the Mdewakanton (pronounced ‘med-ah-wah-kah-ton' ) Dakota people and their history.

Join Center for Leadership and Neighborhood Engagement (CLNE) for a guided tour and reflection. Family friendly for school-aged kids! We'll provide a space to connect, reflect, and build community afterwards!

Welcome Leon Dixon Jr.,
New Executive Director of RCFL

Come meet, greet, welcome, and bless Leon on January 23, 2023 at Redeemer during worship and in a fellowship celebration to follow, and stay tuned for opportunities to meet him and welcome Leon to the neighborhood.

This is another monumental transition in our partnering organization Redeemer Center for Life. Pastor Jen Collins has been actively involved in the process to hire the new executive director. She has been a part of the interviews, continued prayerful conversations with RCFL board members as they made the decision to offer Leon Dixon Jr. the position to join us.

Pastor Jen has met with Leon and has said, “There is a good energy and synergy here, I am hopeful for what can and will happen. God is good and will work through us to do good work for this community as we strive to be a beacon of hope. I look forward to welcoming and working alongside Leon.”

January 29, 2023: RLC Annual Meeting
--> We'll host our annual meeting and a potluck meal after worship in the fellowship hall and via zoom!
