REDEEMER Church Announcements:
“Why Church?” Adult Bible Study begins next Wednesday January 10th // Have you ever wondered why we do things we do in church? Why do we use the word "catholic" in our Creed that we recite every Sunday? Why are there three different Scriptures read every week (and how are they chosen)? Why do ministers wear a gown (known as an "alb") during church service? Why do the colors change in the sanctuary? Together, we'll take a fresh and interactive look at these "whys" (and so many more!) in the church! We will explore why we do what we do as a church, as Christians, and as Lutherans. Got a "why" question? Bring it along! We will discover the answers together every Wednesday night, beginning January 10th from 6-8pm. Put it on your calendar! And bring the kiddos - dinner and childcare are available! MLK Sunday Potluck Celebration & Program next January 14th // January 14 is our annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration with potluck meal followed by a time of music, song, and poetry. Immediately following worship, we will begin the potluck meal in the fellowship hall. Fried chicken from Cub will be provided, and everyone is asked to bring side dish and/or desert to share. Bring enough to serve at least four, and we’ll see whose dish goes home with bragging rights for being most popular. It’s going to difficult to beat Pastor Kelly’s taco salad! Following the pot luck meal, from 2-3:30pm, we will celebrate beloved community with a program filled with song, music, and poetry. You won’t want to miss this wonderful celebration honoring the life and ministry of Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. Listener Training on January 22 // Redeemer is embarking on a season of holy listening to deepen relationships within our community and learn how God is at work among us. Anyone interested in learning to facilitate deep listening conversations within our community is invited to a Listener Training on Monday, January 22, 6-8 pm at Redeemer. Food and child care will be provided. Contact Vicar Matt at vicar@redeemermpls.org for more information. Annual Meeting & Potluck Dinner on January 28th // On January 28, following worship we will again meet downstairs in the fellowship hall for our Annual Congregation meeting. During the annual meeting the congregation will receive the 2017 annual report and elect new church council members and Redeemer Center for Life board of directors for 2018. Following the annual meeting the celebration will continue with a meal and time for fellowship. New Church Directory is Ready and Live! // The online Instant Church Directory has been updated with all available information and ready for use. If you need the website and login information, please contact Amy Koopman (admin@redeemermpls.org) and she can send you necessary links. If your information is inaccurate, or you’d like to update anything, you can send that information to Amy as well. There are so many topics you've opened on this post. You could have left me confused if I was not focused on the details you have opened but fortunately, I got all the messages you want to say. I am happy to see that Redeemer Lutheran Church continues to spread good news and words from God. People need to be reeducated about their faith because it seems like they are starting to be busy with their own lives once again. It's important to allot some space for God. Comments are closed.
