Every Sunday in Lent we will explore how Jesus lived in his body on earth and invites us to take care of —and embrace the goodness of—our own bodies. Each week our Gospel will highlight a different story from Jesus’ life and connect it to shared human experiences—like growing up, taking naps, or drinking water. By engaging with these stories through a broad lens of embodiment, This is My Body seeks to inspire curiosity, wonder, and awe in all ages. Lent devotionals are available for families as a downloadable resource, and printed copies will be available upon request.
We are utilizing resources from Illustrated Ministry, which are written for all ages. We believe you’ll find appropriate questions and discussion topics in each devotional for your children and yourself no matter the age. At the same time, feel free to tweak content and questions to work for your family. You don’t need to do all the activities for it to be a meaningful experience. Take a look at the devotionals, see what you think will work best for your family’s schedule, and find time each week to gather together.

The God Who Sees by Karen Gonzalez
Sundays, February 26th to April 2nd

Join us beginning this Sunday evening at 6pm via zoom as we read together The God Who Sees. Register here to receive the login link. Need a book? The first 13 people to register receive a FREE** book provided by a Thrivent grant, and Audible audiobooks are free!

Meet people who have fled their homelands. Hagar. Joseph. Ruth. Jesus. Here is a riveting story of seeking safety in another land. Here is a gripping journey of loss, alienation, and belonging. In The God Who Sees, immigration advocate Karen Gonzalez recounts her family’s migration from the instability of Guatemala to making a new life in Los Angeles and the suburbs of south Florida. In the midst of language barriers, cultural misunderstandings, and the tremendous pressure to assimilate, Gonzalez encounters Christ through a campus ministry program and begins to follow him. Here, too, is the sweeping epic of immigrants and refugees in Scripture.

**If you are able to purchase your own book please do! This allows leaves books for individuals for whom cost may be a barrier.
