Worship has returned to in-person at 10:30 am. It will also be live streamed at 10:30 am via Facebook Live that can be accessed here. The link, along with a bulletin for each worship, can also be found on our website www.redeemermpls.org. As usual, we will be masked and socially distanced when we do meet together in person.
Holy Week Schedule: Palm Sunday: 10:30am worship with palm procession at Redeemer Maundy Thursday: 7pm Northside parish worship at Salem Lutheran Good Friday: 7pm Northside parish worship at Christ the River of Life Easter Sunday: 10:30am Festival worship at Redeemer Bible Study // Pastor Peter will offer a Bible study for the 5 Sundays in Easter (April 24 - May 22) at 9:30 am for anyone interested in joining. We will meet in the Library to examine the book of Revelation using a study guide by Lutheran BIble scholar Dr. Barb Rossing entitled "Journeys through Revelation." Come, study, and discuss together one of the most puzzling and provocative books of the Bible and discover its relevance for our time. Redeemer Garden Clean Up // Andy Bryan and Greta Klawiter-Lein are hosting a community garden clean up at Redeemer on April 24th from 1-4 pm. It will be a simple clean up with refreshments and at the same time youth n power are doing a neighborhood cleanup. Anyone who wants to join is more than welcome! If you have any questions, reach out to sovereignstarts@gmail.com. Building the Beloved Community Feedback Session // Please mark your calendars for April 27th at 6:30 pm. Redeemer Lutheran Church is hosting a feedback session to help guide policy decisions and training for law enforcement officers in the Twin Cities area. This effort is in conjunction with dozens of other faith communities in the metro area, organized by Interfaith Action, and providing feedback directly to the Minnesota Commissioner of Public Safety, John Harrington. If this sounds interesting, and aligned with the mission of Redeemer, you can find a lot more details at the Interfaith Action website: https://interfaithaction.org/get-involved/buildingbeloved/ At this site you will see "dilemma #2" if you watch the videos it will give you an idea of what type of conversation we might be having. There are also tons of other materials on the website if you want to really dig in and get involved. This amazing opportunity to help make our community a safer place, more aligned with faith based values, was brought to us by Dr. Robin Bell. Give him a fist bump the next time you see him. Redeemer Easter Youth Program // In preparation for Easter Sunday (April 17th), children and youth are invited to be involved in the service! Similar to Easter, plans are underway for a telling of the Easter story and a song, as well as an Easter egg hunt! Please join us at Redeemer on Sunday, April 10th at 9:45am for preparations as a group! Dave Scherer will help teach the song and we'll go through the readings. Redeemer Easter Choir // We are looking for singers for the Redeemer Easter Choir! If you would like to join the music team for Easter worship, please join us at rehearsal after worship on April 3 & 10, and before worship (time TBD) on April 17 (Easter). Music and/or lyrics will be provided at rehearsal. You can also get in touch with Alyssa (alyssaschwitzer@gmail.com) for recordings and music/lyrics if you would like them prior to Sunday. Updating Contact Information on Breeze // We are currently working on updating all of the contact information we have for folks at RLC. When you have a moment, please update your contact information either on Breeze or you can fill out this Google Form. We want to ensure that folks are receiving the proper updates on all things at Redeemer. If you have any questions, please email Savannah at admin@redeemermpls.org. The Redeemer Church Council approved additional members to the call committee at their March meeting. The call committee’s members are: Kristen Hoyles, Maggie Dexheimer Pharris, Holly DeSouza, Curtis Coats, Sara Huelle, Tasheante Locust, and Paul Palacio. Please pray for them by name as they engage in the important work of calling our next pastor to serve Redeemer. Lector’s Needed for Worship // Now that we are having worship indoors, we are looking for volunteers to be a lector at our services. You can sign up through our SignUp Genius HERE. Venture North Update // RCFL has announced that Venture North Bikes is open for bike service. Kennis Littleton, a Northside resident, is renting the Venture North building (owned by RCFL) and he is operating the shop, Venture North Bikes, LLC - a for profit corporation - that will offer affordable and needed bike service to the community. Restorative Circle Practitioner Training // Are you interested in becoming a certified Restorative Circle Practitioner for the Division Program at the Dispute Resolution Center? You will virtually be trained in facilitating diversion cases for Ramsey County, supporting clients with low/high level offenses, shifting the negative narrative within the Criminal Justice System, and earning extra income. In the Google Playstore or Apple App Store, you can search Vanco Mobile, download it, and follow these simple steps to set up your easy and efficient online giving with Redeemer straight from your Smartphone. We will put your prayer requests in the service. BREEZE ONLINE DIRECTORY SMARTPHONE APP // Good news! Our church management software program, Breeze, is available as a smartphone app, making searching for other members and congregants easier than ever on your mobile devices. Search for the Breeze ChMS app in your device’s app store. When you log in the first time, it will ask for your congregation’s subdomain/ID, which is redeemermpls. Then you can use your same username and password to log in and find each other. If you have questions or need a Breeze login, email Savannah and she’ll send you one! COVID-19 DELTA VARIANT & VACCINATIONS // We encourage everyone to get your COVID-19 vaccinations/boosters if you haven't already! They are free and available to all people aged 5 and older. As we gather, we will continue to practice social distancing and mask-wearing to protect the unvaccinated and the most vulnerable among us who cannot be vaccinated yet.
