REDEEMER

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Redeemer Announcements | April 1st, 2022

4/1/2022

Worship has returned to in-person at 10:30 am. It will also be live streamed at 10:30 am via Facebook Live that can be accessed here. The link, along with a bulletin for each worship, can also be found on our website www.redeemermpls.org.  As usual, we will be masked and socially distanced when we do meet together in person.

Midweek Lenten Services will be held jointly with our Northside Parish Partners at Christ the River of Life (2200 Fremont Ave N.), beginning with a meal at 6pm, with table discussion on themes of FAITH AND GRIEF IN COMMUNITY followed at 6:45pm with Holden Evening Prayer.  The themes for each of the Wednesdays in Lent follow the 5 stages of grief made famous by Elizabeth Kubler-Ross: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance.  Come explore with others how these themes have played out in our communal experiences of grief in this time of a pandemic and racial reckoning. Click here for a link to the flyer.

Building the Beloved Community Feedback Session // Please mark your calendars for April 27th at 6:30 pm. Redeemer Lutheran Church is hosting a feedback session to help guide policy decisions and training for law enforcement officers in the Twin Cities area. This effort is in conjunction with dozens of other faith communities in the metro area, organized by Interfaith Action, and providing feedback directly to the Minnesota Commissioner of Public Safety, John Harrington.

If this sounds interesting, and aligned with the mission of Redeemer, you can find a lot more details at the Interfaith Action website:

https://interfaithaction.org/get-involved/buildingbeloved/

At this site you will see "dilemma #2" if you watch the videos it will give you an idea of what type of conversation we might be having. There are also tons of other materials on the website if you want to really dig in and get involved. This amazing opportunity to help make our community a safer place, more aligned with faith based values, was brought to us by Dr. Robin Bell. Give him a fist bump the next time you see him. Lots more info to come, all are welcome, just keep your calendar open on April 27th, and stay tuned!

Redeemer Easter Youth Program // In preparation for Easter Sunday (April 17th), children and youth are invited to be involved in the service! Similar to Easter, plans are underway for a telling of the Easter story and a song, as well as an Easter egg hunt!
Please join us at Redeemer on Sunday, April 10th at 9:45am for preparations as a group! Dave Scherer will help teach the song and we'll go through the readings.

Redeemer Easter Choir // We are looking for singers for the Redeemer Easter Choir!  If you would like to join the music team for Easter worship, please join us at rehearsal after worship on April 3 & 10, and before worship (time TBD) on April 17 (Easter). Music and/or lyrics will be provided at rehearsal.  You can also get in touch with Alyssa (alyssaschwitzer@gmail.com) for recordings and music/lyrics if you would like them prior to Sunday.

Updating Contact Information on Breeze // We are currently working on updating all of the contact information we have for folks at RLC. COVID-19 DELTA VARIANT & VACCINATIONS // We encourage everyone to get your COVID-19 vaccinations/boosters if you haven't already! They are free and available to all people aged 5 and older. As we gather, we will continue to practice social distancing and mask-wearing to protect the unvaccinated and the most vulnerable among us who cannot be vaccinated yet.
For folks who are looking for resources on getting masks or the vaccine, this article is great help.
