Second Sunday Fellowship & New To Redeemer Informational Gathering // You’re invited to join us next Sunday, December 10th, for our monthly Second Sunday fellowship gatherings! We’ll gather in the fellowship hall after service for conversation and an informational meeting for visitors, new members, and anyone curious about who Redeemer is and what we do in the community. All are welcome! Save the Date: Christmas Pageant, December 17th // Mark your calendars and save the date for our annual children’s Christmas pageant coming on December 17th. You may have seen it previously advertised as December 10th, but it’s been moved to the 17th. Note the change! Coming January 10, 2018: “Why We Do What We Do?” Adult Bible Study // Have you ever wondered why we do things we do in church? Why do we use the word "catholic" in our Creed that we recite every Sunday? Why are there three different Scriptures read every week (and how are they chosen)? Why do ministers wear a gown (known as an "alb") during church service? Why do the colors change in the sanctuary? Together, we'll take a fresh and interactive look at these "whys" (and so many more!) in the church! We will explore why we do what we do as a church, as Christians, and as Lutherans. Got a "why" question? Bring it along! We will discover the answers together every Wednesday night, beginning January 10th. Put it on your calendar! And bring the kiddos - dinner and childcare are available! 2018 Giving Envelopes are here! // For those who have already requested them, your labeled 2018 giving envelopes are available for pick-up on the table in back of the sanctuary. If you’d like your own but haven’t requested them yet, email Amy (admin@redeemermpls.org) or Laurie (bookkeeper@redeemermpls.org) and we’ll assign and prepare a set for you. If you currently ARE assigned an envelope set, but are not using them (maybe you signed up for Simply Giving automated withdrawals during the year) and do not expect to use them, let us know if we can "release" your set to someone else. However you decide to do it, we appreciate your faithful giving to support our shared ministry here at Redeemer! Second Sunday Fellowship & New To Redeemer Informational Gathering // You’re invited to join us for our Second Sunday fellowship gatherings! We’ll gather in the fellowship hall after service for conversation and an informational meeting for visitors, new members, and anyone curious about who Redeemer is and what we do in the community. All are welcome! Faith Matters Newsletter Survey // We are conducting a survey on the impact and content of our monthly Faith Matters Newsletter. We’d love your feedback! If you’re not a current reader, take a look through the current and previous issues at our website. If you are a regular reader, take the survey here. We’re Updating the Church Directory! // Over the coming weeks, we’ll be creating a new, updated Church Directory! For this, we need you and your family’s photo and information, if you wish to be included. Please send an email to Amy at admin@redeemermpls.org including as much of the following information as you’re comfortable sharing: A recent family photo, your names, birthdays (we’d love to know your kids’ ages!), address, phone number, email address. If you do not have or cannot provide a family photo, feel free to grab Amy Koopman after church or stop by the church office anytime Monday - Thursday between 10am and 4pm, and Amy can take one for you. We Need Your (and Your Kids’) Original Artwork & Photography // We are trying something new in the upcoming weeks: Rather than using standard clip-art for our weekly bulletins we’ll be featuring congregant artwork, photography, and drawings. This is open to everyone - children, youth, adults. Please submit your artwork, photography, paintings, or drawings to admin@redeemermpls.org. We’ll do our best to use everything we get (and attribute your work accordingly)! Can we break $8,000? // Can we break $8,000 in Thrivent Action Teams funds for 2017? We’re nearly there! Each Team receives $250 for a fundraising, education, or service activity. Applications for Action Teams must submitted 21 days before the event. To discuss an Action Team, contact Mary at development@redeemercenter.org or 612.636.5104. **** REDEEMER CENTER FOR LIFE Community Announcements: White Elephant Christmas Exchange and Community Potluck: Friday, December 15th // Come celebrate the holiday season with free food and conversation.
