PARKED BIKE and CAR WORSHIP: Sunday, September 6th at 9:30am // You’re invited to join us Sunday September 6th at 9:30am at Redeemer for parked bike and car worship! We look forward to your prayerful presence with your household in your car. Bring a chair to sit in the backyard only if you are walking; otherwise please plan to stay in your car or on/near your bike. Masks will be required
if exiting your car or dismounting from your bike. Everyone outside of all vehicles must wear masks and keep 6 feet of physical distance. When arriving, you will receive a pre-filled Holy Communion package which we will consume after sharing the Lord’s Prayer. With gratitude for you and yours, you may give your offering to ushers as you receive from them your prefilled Holy Communion package. All singing, praying, and worship actions, will be from our cars or in assigned spaces with masks. For information on what to expect at worship, check out the video above from Lonna and Pastor Babette. If you plan to come, please RSVP here so we know who and how many to expect!

In addition to making sure captions are available on all new recordings beginning with this weekend’s worship, we will also work to add captions to all previous video recordings in the coming weeks!

SUNDAY MORNING and WEDNESDAY EVENING ZOOM MEET-UPS // In addition to our ongoing Sunday morning zoom fellowship at 9:30am, we will begin hosting a weekly Wednesday evening zoom from 7-8pm in September, when we will dig into and discuss each of the five chapters of First Peter. There is a posted recording by Pastor Kelly on each chapter. The existing recordings (available online) by Pastor Kelly were shaped by perceiving the rebellion, uprising and social unrest in Minneapolis. 13th Sunday after Pentecost | Readings and Gospel:
Jeremiah 15:15-21 | Psalm 26:1-8 | Romans 12:9-21 | Matthew 16:21-28
Intercessor: Confident of your care and helped by the Holy Spirit, we pray for the church, the world, and all who are in need…

God of faithfulness, you bid your people to follow Jesus. Set the mind of your church on divine things. Grant us trust in you as we prepare to call a pastor that we with our new leader lose our lives for the sake of Christ and thereby discover joy in life through him. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

God of wonder, the earth is yours and all that is in it. Heal your creation and give us eyes to see the world as you do. As the seasons change, pattern the rhythm of our lives in harmony with all creation especially for Sarah and Nathan who are beginning their faith journey as the newly married. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

God of all nations, you call us to live peaceably with all. Give us ears to hear one another, even those we name as enemies. Fill all leaders with mercy and understanding, that they advocate and genuinely care for those who are poor and most vulnerable in their communities. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

God of salvation, you promise to deliver us. Give those who suffer a strong sense of your presence and love. Accompany those who are uncertain, raise the spirits of those who are despairing, and heal all those in need, including Claudia, Mark, MarySue,  Mary Lou, Shoonie, the residents of Chicago, Kenosha, Houston, our own city of Minneapolis and the states of California and Louisiana, the global nations living with COVID-19 and quarantines four our front-line, first-responder, retail and delivery persons. Be with all whom we hold in our hearts  . . . Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Intercessor: In the certain hope that nothing can separate us from your love, we offer these prayers to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

12th Sunday after Pentecost: Readings and Gospel
Isaiah 51:1-6 | Psalm 138 | Romans 12:1-8 | Matthew 16:13-20
Intercessor: Confident of your care and helped by the Holy Spirit, we pray for the church, the world, and all who are in need:

Lord our rock, you are our foundation in Jesus Christ, your Son, whom we confess as the living God. Prepare your church in its many plantings, like Redeemer for its mission is in bearing witness to Christ to all especially during their granted call process. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Join our songs to the praises of your smallest creatures, that a spirit of thanksgiving will arouse us to cherish this wondrous home you give us. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Direct the leaders of countries, legislators and magistrates, mayors and councils, to walk in your ways by fulfilling your loving purposes in the governance of peoples especially inEthiopia, Lebanon, and the Church in the Holy Land experiencing violent unrest. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Though we walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve us, deliver us, and fulfill your purpose for us by granting healing and wholeness as steadfast love to any in adversity, sick with COVID-19, and in need of care in Chicago, Baltimore, the Pacific Islands, with Mary Lou, Shoonie, the grieving, front-line, first-responder, retail and delivery persons as well as all named aloud and silently before you... Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

You are the everlasting Rock from which we were hewn, and you restore your people to joy and gladness as we recognize in ourselves and one another the unique gifts we received for the building of your church as we celebrate the consecration of Sarah as an ELCA deacon and her upcoming wedding to Nathan Hartwig, with your joining us in welcoming Michelé Crowder with Dr. Mark and Mrs. Linda Jacobson on our shared journey of faith. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Pastor: In the certain hope that nothing can separate us from your love, we offer these prayers to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Intercessor: Confident of your care and helped by the Holy Spirit, we pray for the church, the world, and all who are in need-  (a brief silence.)

Gather the church to be part of your mission as ambassadors of Jesus Christ so that you help your church discover and find blessings in the faith of all people. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Relieve waters like the Mississippi, Theodore Wirth Lake, choked by garbage, renew soils stripped of nutrients, and refresh the air all creatures need to live by the grace you grant to all. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Let your way be known among all the nations of the world, now divided by competing interests, contending alliances, and consumed by enormous worry.  Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

We pray for those who do not have enough sustained by local and global ministries in congregations and organizations, for outcasts in our villages, cities, and towns, and for those who need your healing especially for any living with COVID-19, Mary Lou . . .  Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Grant the engaged Sarah Kretchmann and Nathan Hartwig your free and unmerited favor to find their life refreshed in you and extend this same gift to Redeemer Lutheran as we pray for the coming of our next pastor joining this partnership in the gospel strengthened for mission in your name. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Pastor: In the certain hope that nothing can separate us from your love, we offer these prayers to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

10th Sunday after Pentecost | Readings and Gospel:
1 Kings 19:9-18, Psalm 85:8-13, Romans 10:5-15, Matthew 14:22-33
Intercessor: Confident of your care and helped by the Holy Spirit, we pray for the church, the world, and all who are in need--

For your whole church throughout the world. Give courage in the midst of storms, so that we see and hear Jesus calling and leading us to follow with this invitation: “Take heart, it is I: do not be afraid.” Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

For the well-being of your creation. Protect waterways, forests, lands, and wildlife from abuse by helping the human family endeavor to sustain and be sustained by the resources of your hand. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

For the nations and their leaders. May nations and localities in conflict know the peace that is the fruit of justice, and justice is the path to peace. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

For those in need. Accompany all who are lonely, hear the voices of those who cry out in anguish, and support those who are frustrated in their search for an affordable place to live. We lift the suffering with COVID-19, Mary Lou, Traiveon and the family of Wilma Belvins, the grieving survivors of hurricanes and tornadoes, the explosion in Beirut and any we name before you... Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

For Redeemer, gathered as your people giving thanks for this gift of our Call Committee. We pray for those who are new to this community, for students and teachers preparing for a new school year, and for those struggling with unexpected hardship. Supply us generously with your grace for our life together. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Pastor: In the certain hope that nothing can separate us from your love, we offer these prayers to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
