    Readings: Isaiah 55:1-5 | Psalm 145:8-9, 14-21 | Romans 9:1-5 | Matthew 14:13-21

Intercessor: Confident of your care and helped by the Holy Spirit, we pray for the church, the world, and all who are in need-  a brief silence.

You take resources that appear to be meager, bless them, and there is enough for your church to trust that what you bless and ask us to share with the world is abundantly sufficient. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Protect abundant life on land and in water by reversing the damage we have caused your creation in fields, parks, lakes, and the Mississippi River. Replenish land by providing needed rain in ground water supplies, in places of drought, and forests under wildfires. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

You offer yourself to all the nations and peoples of the earth, inviting everyone to express shalom in Brazil, Bolivia, Ethiopia, and these United States especially in Minneapolis, Portland, and Seattle. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Hear the anguish of tender hearts who cry to you in suffering and satisfy their deepest needs in body, heart, soul, and mind especially any living with the COVID-19 condition and quarantine, and with whom we name before Mary Lou, Jane . . . Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

You offer freely the fullness of salvation so our congregation by its welcoming heart in words and actions may extend your free and abundant hospitality to our expectant pastor and all whom we encounter. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Pastor: In the certain hope that nothing can separate us from your love, we offer these prayers to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Readings & Gospel: Eighth Sunday after Pentecost
Isaiah 44:6-8, Psalm 86:11-17, Romans 8:12-25, Matthew 13:31-33, 44-52

Intercessor: Confident of your care and helped by the Holy Spirit, we pray for the church, the world, and all who are in need -- a brief silence --

Merciful God, your reign is revealed to us in a mustard shrub, help your church witness to the surprising yet common ways you encounter us in daily life as we form the faith of children and youth, anticipating with parents and guardians in-person or online schooling. Lead us in treasuring the earth as we live as grateful and healing caretakers of our home. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

As the birds of the air nest in branches of trees, gather the nations of the world into the welcoming shade of your merciful reign of building trust with each other and walking in the way of peace within the U.S especially Portland, and New York, the protesting in Bolivia, and the civil strife in Ethiopia. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Your Spirit helps us in our weakness and intercedes for the saints according to your will. Give comfort to the dying, refuge to the weary, justice to those who are oppressed, and healing to the sick, especially any living with COVID-19 and weighing heavily on our hearts and minds . . . Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

You show steadfast love and direct us in calling the next pastor by boldly asking for what is most needed when refreshed with new dreams of being your people in this place and time. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Pastor: In the certain hope that nothing can separate us from your love, we offer these prayers to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Readings: Isaiah 44:6-8, Psalm 86:11-17, Romans 8:12-25;
Gospel: Matthew 13:31-33, 44-52
Intercessor: Confident of your care and helped by the Holy Spirit, we pray for the church, the world, and all who are in need - (a brief silence)

God of the harvest, the good seed of the gospel of Jesus Christ that you sow throughout the world, for your church to be both diligent and patient, full of resolve and gentleness, that our witness may be faithful to your intentions as you sow the good seed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

God of all space and time, your whole creation groans in labor pains, awaiting the gift of new birth. Renew the earth, sky, and sea, so that all your creation experiences freedom from the bondage of decay. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

God of the nations, mend the fabric of the human family, now torn apart by our fearful and warring ways in Afghanistan, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Israel, Iran, and the Persian Gulf, North Korea, Libya, Kashmir, Venezuela, Yemen and these United States, especially Portland, Oregon and New York. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

God of hope, open our hearts to join you in accompanying the lonely, abandoned, and brokenhearted, feeling trapped by despair, and all who suffer in any way especially Sharon, Zoe, and those living locally and globally with COVID-19  . . . Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

God of the seasons, in the midst of this summer, give refreshment, renewal, and new opportunities especially within the ministry of the Redeemer Call Committee and Redeemer Center for Life. We pray for the safety of those who travel. For medical personnel, cleaners and deliverers, with any who cannot take the rest they need. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer

Pastor: In the certain hope that nothing can separate us from your love, we offer these prayers to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Congratulations to ACLU Liberty Award Winner and Redeemer admin Amy Koopman // In August of 2018, Amy was charged by Robbinsdale Police with interfering with a peace officer after filming them arrest two Black men at gunpoint. She was defended in court by the ACLU of Minnesota who secured the dismissal of the charges and are now honoring Amy, along with Valerie Castile, Kim Hunter, and the Nobles County Public Defenders, in the 2020 ACLU-MN Virtual Liberty Awards on Thursday, July 16 at 4:30pm. In the aftermath of George Floyd's murder by Minneapolis police, people all over Minnesota are coming together to secure a future where the Constitution guarantees rights to all people, and where our core institutions are guided by the principles of justice and equity, rather than by racism and xenophobia. Register to attend the virtual event today, and join the ACLU on July 16th to  learn about key civil liberties issues across the state and meet the heroes who are tackling those issues head-on. Hear their stories, including Amy’s, and listen to their messages of strength, courage, resilience, and perseverance.

Please Ignore Phishing Emails! // A number of us recently received an email from a phisher posing as Pastor Kelly and asking for an immediate favor. Upon closer inspection, the sender was "interimpastor.redemmermpls@gmail.com." As a reminder, no one from Redeemer's staff will email you asking for gift cards or other financial gifts.Any and all stewardship or giving requests will be presented as such every time, and will come with official correspondence. We apologize for the inconvenience and any confusion it may cause.
It is a problem experienced by many pastors and faith leaders across the country. However there is nothing we can do to stop the phishers from sending the emails, other than to remind us all that no such emails will be sent, and to always check the sender's email address if there's a question. All emails coming from Pastor Kelly will be sent from interimpastor@redeemermpls.org.

Readings: Isaiah 55:10-13 | Psalm 65:1-13 | Romans 8:1-11 | Matthew 13:1-9,18-23
Intercessor: Called into unity with one another and the whole creation, let us pray for our shared world -- (a brief silence)
Gracious God, we pray for missionaries and newly planted congregations around the world sowing your word in many ways and places. Inspire us by their witness to the faith we share. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
Creating God, empower us to sustainably use what you have given us, animals and birds making their home among us in praise of you. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
Reigning God, we pray for our nation’s leaders. Increase their desire for justice and equality. We pray for our enemies. Bridge the chasms that divide us and guide authorities to a deep and lasting peace. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
Abiding God, care for all doubting, renew faith, for all worrying, provide release, for all struggling, ease burdens, for all in fear, give hope especially those weighing heavily on our hearts and minds survivors of flooding in Japan and U.S. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
Renewing God, revive Redeemer Lutheran congregation and Redeemer Center for Life in this place by nourishing and nurturing the seeds you have planted, that we might grow as disciples by replacing what has been depleted so that our ministries are sustained and our relationships deepened with Harrison and North. Sustain our ministries, providing food, registering voters and sharing masks and deepen relationships with the wider community of Harrison and North Minneapolis. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
Eternal God, we give thanks for all the deceased, Joe, all victims of famine and this pandemic,  especially Nathan Söderblom, Bishop of Uppsala, whom we commemorate today and those whom we name before you . . . Comfort us in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.

Pastor: Receive these prayers, O God, and those too deep for words; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
