H-Cubed July: Harrison, Harmony, and Harrison
This month’s H-Cubed will be TONIGHT (Friday, July 29, 2016) at Venture North (1830 Glenwood Ave). The theme this month will be Authenticity. If you would like to perform or speak for the event, sign up at the Venture North coffee bar before the event.
Free food and refreshments will be served.
 
 
YOUNG LEADERS MARCH - A UNITY OF COMMUNITIES
On Thursday, August 11th from noon to 2:30, come and take part in a march and rally to recognize and uplift our young leaders! The event includes sign-making, a march around the Harrison neighborhood, a community meal, live music, and a chance to share your thoughts, hopes, and passions for the youth in our community.
 
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED! We are looking for adults to come on the march to serve as security, as well as those who can help to serve food after the march.

Women of Redeemer Potluck
The women of Redeemer are going to have a potluck on Wednesday, August 3rd, at 6pm. The potluck will be hosted by Anna Rohde-Schwehn. Her address is 1010 Emerson Ave. N. (in Heritage Park neighborhood, just North of Redeemer). Bring a salad, side, fruit, or appetizer to share! 
 
This week’s Summer Cookout will take place on Tuesday, August 2nd from 6-8pm, in order to celebrate National Night Out. This cookout will be in place of the regular Wednesday cookout. National Night Out is an annual nation-wide event that encourages people to get together with their neighbors.   
 
Our Annual Block Party  will take place on Wednesday, August 17th from 6:00-8:00PM. We will be looking for food, supply, and volunteer donations from the congregation in the coming week. If you would like to donate your time or supplies, contact the Sarah in the church office at 612-374-4139 or admin@redeemermpls.org.

​Vicar Louis Last Sunday July 24th
Vicar Louis Tillman’s last Sunday at Redeemer will be Sunday, July 24th. After service will be having a potluck to celebrate his time with us and wish him best of luck as he moves back to Chicago to finish his Masters of Divinity.
The main dish will be provided, we are still in need of a side dishes and/or salads. Please have them at church by 10:00a.m on Sunday, July 24th.
 
Youth Summer Camp 2016
Redeemer Center for Life is offering 5 weeks of summer camp for children who have completed Kindergarten to 6th grade, living in North Minneapolis. We still have multiple spaces available! The camp will run Monday through Thursday, 10:00 - 2:30 PM.  Registration fee for each child is $5 per week or $15 for a whole summer of fun programming! Free lunch & snack provided. Registration forms can be found in the church office, the Living Room and Venture North.
Science & Garden Camp - July 25-28
Art & Mural Camp - August 1-4
Community Leadership Camp - August 8-11

Summer Programing Volunteers
Greetings church!  Summer camp is in full swing!!  If you would like to come read with the kids at 12:30, volunteer with us Wednesday mornings or bike field trip on Thursdays, we are especially looking for people who want to come and be engaged with the kids!
Thank you for all your support! We are excited to serve 35 to 45 students this summer!

The summer cookouts are a time for partner churches to come together with Redeemer to reach out and invite community members to enjoy a meal together. 
 
These cookouts lead up to our Annual Block Party, which will take place on Wednesday, August 17th from 6:00-8:00PM. We will be looking for food, supply, and volunteer donations from the congregation in the coming week. "Friday Fire" Community Oven Event on July 15th
Come to this month's "Friday Fire" at Harrison Community Oven and join your neighbors as we share a delicious, free pizza dinner! The next Friday Fire event is Friday, July 15th from 6-8pm. Please bring toppings to share! If you would like to volunteer or would like a tutorial on lighting the oven, please contact Helen at 612-374-4139 or helen@redeemercenter.org.

We are excited to announce that our past vicar Lamar Bailey has been called to a congregation in the Metro DC area. Blessings on Pastor Lamar, Elise, Cora, and Celeste as they start their new journey.

​Philando Castile Vigil at Luther Seminary TONIGHT
 
On Tuesday night, Philando Castile, a young black man, was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop. Our community, neighborhood, city and nation mourn this shooting.
Please join us on Friday, July 8 at 6 p.m. for a prayer vigil at Olson Campus Center in the Chapel of the Incarnation, Luther Seminary (2481 Como Ave, St Paul, MN 55108) hosted by Luther Seminary, Augsburg College, Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota, Saint Paul Area Synod and Minneapolis Area Synod.
 
Service and March on Sunday Evening with Bishop Eaton
A service and march is being planned for Sunday, July 10th at St. Michael Lutheran Church (1660 County Road B W, Saint Paul, MN) in Roseville, MN. The service will take place at 5:00p.m. After the service, there will be a march to the location of Philando Castile’s death on Larpenteur Avenue in St. Paul.  Bishop Elizabeth Eaton, Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America in Chicago, will be participating in the service and march.
 
Black Lives Matter Coalition
Pastor Kelly is currently trying to find a time for the Black Lives Matter Coalition to meet with Bishop Eaton. Information will be provided as it is known. For questions or to talk to Pastor Kelly, contact him on his cell phone (651-307-0315) or his email (pastor@redeemermpls.org).

​Redeemer Offices and Venture North Closed on the 4th of July
The church and RCFL office will be closed on Monday, July 4th. The offices will reopen on Tuesday, July 5th at 9:00a.m.
Venture North will also be closed on Monday, July 4th. The coffee shop will reopen on Tuesday, July 5th at 7:00a.m.
 
Youth Summer Camp 2016

Summer Programing Volunteers

*3-4 old blankets, quilts or yoga mats that can be used for the yard for kids to sit on 
*50-60 plastic water bottles - don't recycle them, bring them in by Sunday July 10.
