The Dream Continues: A Worship Service Honoring the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr: April 3rd, 7pm at St. Mary’s Basilica // Convened by the leaders of the Historic Black Church in Minnesota, this hope-filled community service will pay tribute to the work and vision of Dr. King. On April 3, 1968, King gave his famous, final sermon, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop.” Fifty years later, we gather under the leadership of the Historic Black Church to worship, witness, and declare that The Dream Continues. She’s beginning to get around with a walker and will soon transition to a cane. Last week, they took the pins out of her hand and it’s healing well, too. She wants everyone to know that she’ll be making it over to Redeemer as soon as the snow allows! She still needs some help with meals and there are still spots open in the meal train! Holy Hoops Basketball Games, this Sunday at 3:30pm // Each year, high school youth participate in the Holy Hoops Basketball League with young people from other churches around the metro area. The purpose of the Holy Hoops is to provide relaxed yet structured games in a Christ-centered setting - allowing youth an opportunity for fun and exercise while building relationships with teammates, opponents, and God. Devotions, prayers, and community service are a part of each team’s experience. Games are on Sunday afternoons at 3:30pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Brighton, MN from February to the beginning of April, when we have our annual competition at Augsburg College.
