REDEEMER Church Announcements:
H-Cubed TONIGHT, Friday February 23rd, 730pm // Join us tonight at The Living Room for our monthly open mic series centered on empowering marginalized voices, building community, and healing through the arts. This month our theme is the power of narrative and what it means to shape and craft your own story, the story of your identity, culture, and community. Our featured performing artist is incredibly versatile singer and musician Taylor Seaberg. Our featured visual artist is amazing live speed painter Delphin Starr. Emerging soul and funk ensemble, The Poetic Diaspora, will be the house band and we'll be serving free, fresh food from our favorite local caterer, Gerard Klass of Klassics. Come hungry! We'll feed your belly and your soul! 7:30-9:30PM Friday, February 23rd Health Commons at the Living Room 1716 Glenwood Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55405 Bertha McKinney Still Needs Our Help! // Bertha McKinney, who serves the Harrison community as a staff member at RCFL’s partner organization Health Commons, suffered significant, incapacitating injuries in December after being hit by a car. She has since had multiple surgeries, and is in physical therapy as she recovers, but her recovery is expected to take a while longer. As a primary provider for her daughter and five grandchildren (ages 8-15), she needs our help with meals! We’ve set up a Meal Train calendar to provide them meals and basic pantry needs three times weekly through February and March. Please sign up to take them meals via the meal train site: https://mealtrain.com/981l6l or contact Amy Koopman at the church office for more information (admin@redeemermpls.org). Holy Hoops Basketball Games, Sundays at 330pm // Each year, high school youth participate in the Holy Hoops Basketball League with young people from other churches around the metro area. The purpose of the Holy Hoops is to provide relaxed yet structured games in a Christ-centered setting - allowing youth an opportunity for fun and exercise while building relationships with teammates, opponents, and God. Devotions, prayers, and community service are a part of each team’s experience. Games are on Sunday afternoons at 3:30pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Brighton, MN from February to the beginning of April, when we have our annual competition at Augsburg College. Come cheer us on! Twice-Monthly Sunday Fellowship Meals // We’re happy to announce that through the rest of the year, Redeemer will host meals after worship every second and last Sundays each month. Through these meals, we invite everyone to get to know other congregants and our Harrison neighbors better. If you’d like to sign up to bring a dish to share, please contact Bitta Gordon or Minister of Fellowship Steve Patnode. Redeemer Women’s Gathering, March 24 // On Saturday, March 24 from 10am-1pm, the Women of Redeemer will gather together in the church kitchen and fellowship hall to prepare freezer meals for Bertha McKinney and family. Women, mark your calendar and plan to join us! What did you just read in these announcements? // It is likely a Thrivent Action Team could help support any of these events. Thrivent Action Teams provide volunteers and $250 that can help with education, fundraising, and service events. Contact Mary at 612-636-5104 or development@redeemercenter.org for information. REDEEMER CENTER FOR LIFE Community Announcements: What is 25 days? // It’s the number of days until spring. You’d better hurry on over to Venture North Bike and Coffee Shop to get your bike tuned up so you’re ready! |
