Join us for our annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Sunday, Jan. 17th. We will be celebrating Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday throughout the day, which will include Sunday morning worship at 10:30a.m., a church potluck, and performances at 2:00p.m. The performance is a time where community members offer songs, stories, poetry, spoken word, etc.
As January's Faith Matters states: "In the wake of acts of police brutality and the proliferation of the Black Lives Matter movement, it is important and timely that all of us come together to build the "beloved community" spoken of by Dr. King. Redeemer works in and with a community that is often ignored or stereotyped, portrayed as poor irrelevant, or dangerous. This event is an opportunity to celebrate the rich talent and compassion growing right here in North Minneapolis." We have so much talent in our community and we can't wait for the community to come together to honor such an amazing individual and what he represents. If you have any questions, or would like to offer a talent and gift to the afternoon celebration, email Sarah (admin@redeemermpls.org) before Friday, January 8th. |
