God’s work in mission always propels us to encounter the neighbor, particularly in the stranger. ELCA Glocal Mission Gatherings equip us for God’s work in today’s global and local realities as well as their “glocal” intersections.

What is mission? Who is the neighbor? Let’s consider these questions together as they relate to our migrating and immigrating world.

This month we begin the season of Lent with worship on Ash Wednesday, February 22, at 7:00pm upstairs in the sanctuary. During five Wednesdays leading up to Easter week we will we will gather downstairs at 6:00pm for soup supper. Following soup supper, at 7:00pm we will share worship that brings us global music and the Holden Vespers service.

Our Lenten theme this year is Ministering with the Generations. We hear from our various generations at Redeemer how the story of God is being told. Come and hear how the story of God’s love and outreach is alive and in our midst. We want to deepen our faith life through the Lenten season of forty days leading up to Easter. We want to share deep table conversation that includes seniors who are in their nineties, young adults, confirmation students, and children in the after-school program. Come join us!

Join us at the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Annual Soul Food Dinner on Sunday, January 15!

On January 15, 2012, Redeemer will celebrate the birth and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The Annual Soul Food Dinner will take place immediately after worship, and the Martin Luther King Jr. celebration will follow.

WELCA Bazaar

Everyone is invited to see what the women of the ELCA have been up to for the past year! There will be crafts, a country store, a bake sale, and food.

This year the confirmation kids will be running the bake sale table. If you would care to bake something for them to sell please contact Lonna Field or Kent Goodroad.

If you have gently used home or electronic items or books and would like to donate them to the country store, please bring them to the church before September 27th, 2011. Please no clothing.

The bazaar will run from 9:30am-2:30pm on Saturday, October 1st, and will continue following worship on Sunday, October 2nd.
