Farewell to Alissa Kretzmann
Next Sunday, July 30th is Vicar Alissa Kretzmann's last service with us. Please join us downstairs after service for cake and refreshments to celebrate her incredible contributions during her year with Redeemer! If you are interested in helping Alissa in the transition, she is looking for some help moving some boxes/small furniture items to her new apartment in Minneapolis within the next week or so (you can reach her at firstname.lastname@example.org).
Redeemer Featured in the Star Tribune!
Redeemer is humbled to be featured in a recent article that the Star Tribune wrote about Lutherans in Minnesota. We give thanks to God for our neighborhood and for the mission support from the Minneapolis Area Synod and church partners that allow us to continue doing the work of being a beacon of hope in the Harrison neighborhood of North Minneapolis! Read the full article here.
Supplies for Success
Children get excited about new school supplies. However, supply costs are a challenge for many families. We applied for a Thrivent Action Team to collect backpacks and fill them with school supplies. Please join in by purchasing basic school supplies--including items needed for the classroom (e.g. dry erase markers, sanitizer, etc.)--to help our neighborhood children be well-equipped to succeed during this next school year. You may leave them in the box labeled “School Supplies” in the back of the Sanctuary or in the Office. Please contact Mary Simonson Clark at email@example.com or 612-636-5104 for information about this project and/or about applying for your own Action Team.
Are you looking for a new way to engage at Redeemer?
I have an opportunity for you! Every year, Redeemer provides a support committee for our pastoral intern. With our new intern, starting soon, we are looking for some additional committee members. As a committee, we provide support via monthly meetings with the intern, including feedback on what they are doing at Redeemer (sermons, worship leadership, other projects, etc.) and being a confidential sounding board for any topics the intern may need help with. I am looking for 3-4 additional members, and would love some representation from the youth of Redeemer. If you are interested, or know someone who may be, please get in touch with me, Jess Swanson, firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!

Tooling and Tubing
Summer is the peak time for bike repair training at Venture North Bike and Coffee Shop. It takes a lot of tools and supplies--such as inner tubes--to repair many bikes by lots of apprentices at Venture North Bike and Coffee Shop. Could you apply for a Thrivent Action Team to purchase “tools and tubes” directly or to use the $250 as seed money in a fundraiser, such as a matching challenge. As a bonus, you and your Action Team could join in one of the bike training or repair sessions. For more bike information, contact 612-377-3029 or firstname.lastname@example.org; for Action Team information, contact Mary at email@example.com or 612-636-5104.
